Re-creation of Max Neuhaus, "American Can", 11.11.2013, The Oval,
Ohio State University, Columbus, USA

Event known as American Can, staged during the winter of 1966-67 in Staten Island’s Cloves Lakes Park (New York) and other locations around the city. Participants were invented to bounce or slide the cans that carpeted the ground, though whether they were given additional and temporal guidelines is no longer known.*

“The ground upon which the product is distributed should be hard enough to insure that a sound is made when the product is bounced or slid along it” (Quoted from text on a flyer that Neuhaus produced in September 1966 for American Can).
